Dr Louzada is a Brazilian hematologist. She graduated in Biology (Bachelor's degree in Genetics) at the Federal
University of Rio de Janeiro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and subsequently earned her MD degree from the Souza
Marques University School of Medicine.

She completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program at Santa Casa de Misericordia Hospital and a 3-year
Hematology Fellowship including 1-year of training in bone marrow transplantation at the Instituto Nacional
de Cancer also in Rio de Janeiro. She subsequently moved to Canada where she completed a postdoctoral
fellowship in Thrombosis at the University of Ottawa and earned an MSc degree in Epidemiology from the
same university.

Her research interests are focused on cancer related thrombosis, health outcomes research and
QOL-psychological issues in hematological malignancies and BMT patients and methodological issues realted
to QOL and psychological impact of diseases.
